With his surrogate PM backed by the reborn TRT in the guise of the PPP, Shinawatra Thaksin predicted his much anticipated return to a delirious crowd of 1000 Chiang Mai supporters via a satellite link from Beijing. The exact day will be announced this Tuesday and rally participants expressed their happiness in the Big T’s triumph over the forces of the junta. The House Speaker of the Thai Parliament was also with the deposed PM in the Chinese Capitol.
It’s a flashback to better days for the TRT faithful.
“During Mr Thaksin’s government, the economy prospered. People lived well and ate well,” a villager who attended the party said to a reporter from The Nation. “The projects introduced by Mr Thaksin’s government were very useful to us, the 30-baht healthcare scheme and the Village Fund.”
No one was happy with the performance of the junta.
Least of all members of the junta who realize their efforts could not stop the majority’s desire to have Old Blue Eyes back in power.
