12/31/1969

I returned home from my July 4th vacation and turned on my iBook G4. It took a long time to boot up and announced that the date was in need of change. I clicked on ‘date and time’ to discover my computer had time-traveled back to the last day of 1969 in my absence.

After dragging the hard-drive back from the past I searched online for an explanation for this time anomaly. No one can solve the mystery, although one reason might be that the Grateful Dead were playing at the Boston Tea Party that evening and the power of that audience’s cerebral experimentation might have create a celestial vortex effecting computers in the future.

A flashback to a better time.

I was 16.

My girlfriend was cheerleader.

We were in love.

If only I could join the black hole, life would be perfect again.

Until some square hit reset.
