Pattaya Soi 6 Guide

Here’s a SOI 6 guide from http://www.pattayagogos.com/bars6.asp for those farangs fortunate to be traveling in these times of tight cash.3 Angels Bar

Pattaya Soi 6 (Soi Yodsak)

News from Pattaya Secrets, August 2006: Angel Showers

After several weeks of renovations, 3 Angels has reopened on the site of the now defunct DMT’s on Soi 6. from the outside, you wouldn’t really notice anything different. Signs have changed, girls haven’t.

Inside the main bar, it still looks pretty much the same. Mirrors with Xmas lights around them remain. New sofas and wall treatments and the addition of a big bike on display (presumably the angels in the name are more to do with motorbikes than celestial singing)

DMT’s, like most Soi 6 bars, had shit rooms, shit beds, shit showers and shit lighting. Not anymore. The new Dutch owner spent the money where it counts: In the bedroom. New entrance, new doors, new walls, flooring, everything. Looks like a proper Western-style budget hotel now.

Gone is the communal shower with the half-working hot water and obligatory bucket. Now each room has its own shower with good water temp and pressure. There is inset incandescent lighting and new beds and mattresses.

Admiral Lord Nelson Pub
Restaurant & pub Review March 2006:

I must say that one of the best bars on soi 6 is the Lord Nelson, great staff and good crowd. And it is a perfect place to rest for a while.

English themed pub without hostesses but with a happy gathering of customers.

The Bee Bar

Reader review, Dec 2006: Bee There

A few changes seem to have occurred in this bar over the last year. The main one is a stock of new pretty girls. The general atmosphere in the bar definitely seemed different from all other bars down the street when I visited it.

The staff are polite and friendly. Drinks are very reasonably priced. You can go and have your fun nearby with your new “friend” then come back and relax in the bar and even have a game of pool on the nice slate-bed table.

If you want to listen to your favourite song you can be your own DJ on the computer disco system. It’s definitely worth a visit even if you only want to play pool against their resident Thai lady pool hustler. She will out-drink and out-play you time and time again!

Betty Boup Dance Club

Previously a short time bar now converted to a gogo bar. See GoGo Bar Reviews

Billy’s Boozer

Short time bar. Previously British Bull Dog. Seems to have scaled back to minimal staff and no girls.

Blue Hawaii Pub

Lady boy short time bar. Not to be confused with the New Blue Hawaii opposite that is not laden with lady boys.

Bret Bar

Short time bar renamed from Christina May’s.

Bret of Bret Bar in Soi 6 suffered a heart attack and auto crash in October of 2006, rendering him essentially incapacitated. Recovery was very slow for Bret, but there was clear progress being made through 2007. Recently, however, that changed, and his health went into a rapid decline. Last Tuesday, April 22, his heart problems overcame him.

A soi 6 with a mixture of entertainments. The bar has an outside section complete with pool table and also an inside section featuring little but the typical sofas.

The girls are a mixture too from Soi 6 stalwarts to innocentish newcomers.

The bar has something against electricity so don’t expect aircon or much in the way of lighting.

Review Jan 2007: Short Time Karaoke

I was drawn in by a pretty girl who was a little hyped up by the free flowing fun from a party.

The bar has dedicated most of the available floor space to an outside beer bar area. However there is a an inside portion too. The desire to escape both the party karaoke and the hot evening area spurred me to head for the aircon.

There seemed to be a lack of traditional Soi 6 sofa seating. There were stools at the bar and single easy chairs. Nothing to stop amorous couples doubling up but if they chose to sit in a chair each they would be uncomfortably distant from each other.

But of course short time bars succeed or fail depending on the girls on hand. And on this particularly occasion the bar proved to be a big success.

British Bulldog Bar

Short time bar. Now has Billy’s Boozer emblazened on the windows. See above

Bull Ring Bar

Review May 2008: Friendly Cows?

Always seems quiet but they seem to have a few pretty girls on hand. I have always been looked after well in the bar

There is a computerised music system with every track known to man.

They allow a bit of naughty stuff in the bar but they make of a play of shutting doors and standing guard. Easier just to retire upstairs.

Review April 2007: No Bull

There’s no bar theme linking the bar with either Spanish bull fighting or even the Birmingham shopping centre. No, just a typical small soi 6 bar complete with the usual 2 person sofas.

My drinking companion reckoned that the bar was Thai owned.

The bar seemed well run and the bar tabs were fair with bottled beer going for 70-75 Baht (strangely two prices for the same brand of beer though!)

But as always, merits in this type of bar are down to the hostess of choice. My selection was eloquent, witty, pretty and suitably enticing so the bar was therefore a hit.

Bus Stop Bar

Thanks to Jay, June 2008: Volume

The bar tends to have the music volume set too loud for interviews or conversation depending on how you look at it. Requests to get it turned down granted but it wasn’t long before the volume would edge up again. Spoilt a good chat with a cutie.

Review from Funseeker, June 2008: No Urge to Leave

I have just come back from Pattaya and what a time I had, in fact it was the best holiday I ever had.

Was made very, very, welcome at the Bus Stop bar, in fact I spent most of my time there (woo hoo) I never felt the urge to leave Soi 6 in the night time as it was full of beautiful girls.

I travelled around Pattaya but Bus Stop was the best place and prices were good at Bt500 short time and Bt1000 long time, if you wanna stay there it is only Bt650 per night

Beers were Bt80 and the Aussie owner (Dave) was a great bloke who told me the best places to go in Pattaya and he even showed me them personally (fantastic).

Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

  News, Apr 2008: Private Bus

The open bar idea was not a complete success so now there is a closed section set back into the bar.

  News, May 2007: Bus Shelter

The front has been knocked out to make this into an open bar

News, December 2005: No Lady Drink Premium

An Aussie lad has opened a new bar, The Bus Stop, next to King Kong bar. Sensible prices (60 Baht Tiger), no lady drinks they are same price we pay, music is great, ST rooms are superb and he’s a few ‘new to Pattaya’ ladies.

Nice to see someone has done a bit of homework before setting out his stall. Well worth a look guys

The owner still pays the ladies from every drink bought for them, out of his profit no less. His prices are sensible too. The downside is that he’s lost all his girls Right now he’s doing his best to find replacements Quite why they have all cleared off isn’t clear, maybe it’s just down to it being a new bar, or maybe the Thais don’t like his approach?

Butterfly Bar
Short time bar eventually re-opened after a couple of month’s police closure. Intermittent opening at the beginning of 2008.

Review from jj, July 2006: Fly In

Butterfly Bar is an all too typical Soi 6 ST bar. Nicely appointed in wood and tile with comfortable sofas and discreet cubicles, it is a perfect example of mediocrity and the paramount importance of the staff. The current owner seems to have sunk a fortune into the place, but no matter how attractive the decor, no matter what the owner’s intentions, the ladies in residence are the key to return business.

The curtains on the cubicles showed promise of special things to come. False alarm. Our ladies-of-the-hour were attractive, funny and talkative, but generally non-responsive, allowing a minimum of grab and tickle. Some bars have a complete lack of ambience but fun girls. Fun ladies trump decor any time.

Butterfly reportedly has a staff of 10 but on this week night only 6 were in evidence. They reportedly are all non-salaried free-lancers so the “go upstairs” refrain was all too frequent. There is an unused tiny dance platform immediately inside the door. We were offered ‘a show’ for a 1000 – a bit steep when the ST BF is a mere 300.

Rumor has it that there is a new owner in the offing. I, for one, would hope that he has a gimmick, a way to break the Soi 6 pattern. For one thing he should ban the ladies from wearing jeans. Perhaps even institute a uniform of sorts that better advertises the available assets. An agreement with the ladies in residence for a pay-to-play closed-curtain “show” priced somewhat below 1000, would be one possible way to integrate the available decor to attract customers. Unless he finds a way to make Butterfly stand out, it will simply remain a nondescript ST bars in a city full of nondescript ST bars.

Review from Pattaya Secrets, April 2006: Top Notch Coasters

I like the rooms at the Butterfly Bar on Soi 6. The inside bar as well as the showers are new. Even the coasters for drinks are top notch. I took one as a souvenir. It has a photo of one of the girls on it.

The Clansman

www.theclansmansoi6.com

 Review June 2008: Drinker’s Pub

The smallish bar has a lot of character, especially for Soi 6. The owner is clearly passionate about his drinking and his military. The bar is decorated accordingly and the bar is also stocked with an enormous selection of drinks. Perhaps from the Scottish connection, I assumed that the array of bottles would be mostly whiskeys, but there is actually a wide selection of all drinks.

Most of the seating is focussed at the bar so perhaps there is not so much opportunity for canoodling. But there are a fair amount of girls on offer.

My companion for the evening was very attractive and was very good company. It also made a change that she was a cider drinker rather than the more usual Thai Whisky or orange juice

Later on the evening the bar became pretty full, with what I assumed were regulars, as everyone seemed to know everyone.

I can see myself joining them.

From The Clansman May 2008: Spirit of Scotland

A Scottish themed bar. We offer over 50 different types of whiskey, malts and blends, and a huge selection of beers and ciders. Our fully stocked spirit bar also offers a selection of draught beer.

Inside you will truly feel the spirit of Scotland, and our lassies will make you feel more than welcome.

Owned and run by an Ex Royal Marine, Alan welcomes all ex and serving soldiers and sailors alike.

Click Bar

Review Sep 2007: Kitsch

I was strangely drawn into visiting the bar on the back of bad reviews. Sometimes one needs to get a little perspective.

But as it turns out the ‘badness’ turned out to be more bad taste than anything. The decor is surely a little ‘retro’ or maybe just cheap. The dodgy looking fixtures and fittings maybe emphasised the latter option.

But none of this proved much of a problem when beset by a team of girls intent on getting up close and personable. They weren’t really quite top notch but they ensured that the stay was pleasurable enough.

Foxy’s Bar

Review from Oliver, May 2008: Good Service

I went to Foxy”s Bar and it was very good. Nice ladies and good service.

News April 2007: Stray Bullet

The bar made the news when one of the bar girls got struck by a bullet. Luckily not much damage was done. It still seems to be a mystery as to who was doing the shooting and why.

  March 2005: Crappy Rooms

Foxy’s has crappy rooms, a communal shower and ill fitting doors

Full Moon Bar

Review from Pattaya Talk, July 2007: Rough and Ready

Shabbier & smaller than My Friend You. BJs openly downstairs, rougher girls but the occasional surprisingly nice girl. Girls are basic, down to it, shameless and spit your cum in a bucket… rough and ready…!

  Review October 2006: Dangly Things

Not one of the most intimate nor the most comfortable of the soi 6 bars. It is a single shop house bar with mostly stool seating rather than the more usual sofas. There are actually 3 sofas at the front of the bar but these were not being used for any particularly naughty purposes. This is probably down to a lack of privacy. The front door is shielded from passers by only be dangly things. The back door onto Soi 6/1 was open with plain glass anyway.

The frontage of the bar was decorated by half a dozen pretty looking potential companions. The lack of an intimate bar area seemed to make for even more undue haste to ‘go upstair’ than usual.

The bar features innocuous music at low volume and prompt service with standard prices. The toilet was clean and well looked after.

The rooms are out the back, into an eatery, up the stairs, grotty landing area, not a terrible room but crappy shower and only cold water. 300baht, 700 baht for the girl

Good Fellas’ Bar
Short time bar with mixed girls & lady boys

Review from Pattaya Pages, June 2006: Good

Probably spent more time in GoodFellas than anywhere else, but the good looking girls are snapped up early. Well thought out bar, attractive, good seating, clean. Haven’t used their short time room though.

  November 2005:

A couple of the girls out front seem to have developed deep voices presumably from the large amount of ‘welcome handsum man’ calls uttered. Anyway I didn’t hang around to investigate further, plenty more bars in the gauntlet.

I feel a bit sorry for any naturally husky or tall girls in Soi 6. Given that one has only a split second choice as one passes, the height and voice is a high priority filter for me. But on the other hand the lady boy’s seem to do well enough for customers so perhaps tall girls get a lot of interest. I wonder if there are ever any shocks in the short time room when the customer gets to see that his lady boy is in fact a girl.

  Summer 2005:

I found Goodfella’s to be a nice, clean, well laid out bar with some pretty girls

Halifax Bar 1

Review Sept 2007: Well Looked After

A pretty small bar with the usual girls and sofas. The bar features a friendly host and mamasang who works hard to ensure that the customers are well looked after.

There’s a ensuite shower in at least one of the upstairs rooms.

From the Yellow Board, February 2006: Get Acquainted

There were about 10 girls waiting on a chance to entertain. There are comfortable sofas inside to help one get acquainted.

At the beach end of the street is the Halifax bar. They always had a bunch of girls out front and a few always called out to me. I went in with a kind of chubby girl with a great smile and attitude.

I had a good time and can recommend this bar. (Decent rooms by the way).

Halifax Bar 2
Unsurprisingly, the same owner as Halifax Bar 1

  Review May 2008: Traditional

Traditional soi 6 single unit layout with 2 person sofas. The bar is a little roomier than the sister bar.

The bar is customer friendly with reasonable drinks prices, a friendly owner and non-pushy girls. Should do well.

Hi! Boss Pub

A Hole in One Bar

Review January 2008: Girl Share Scheme

A recently refurbished bar that is more attractive than most on the soi. There are some attractive girls on duty and they seem to have a girl share scheme with TG next door. If they are barfined out, then spare girls from TG will step inside.

Jack Tar Beer bar
Beer bar with food

Review from Swanks, August 2006: Tarred with a New Brush

The lightning struck tower of change has hit the Jack Tar big time! The place is still inhabited by the same bawdy and good natured ex-pat crowd with the odd tourist who thinks he has slipped in unnoticed, but gone are the poisonous grim meanies and especially the chief viper from the kitchen.

Not only was my visit well worth it for the food, but I got a beaming smile , very friendly, very welcoming and attentive service from some quite charming waiting and bar staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them!

I thought I’d gone in the wrong bar by mistake! Well worth a visit now! Don’t forget its not a late night place though, more for an afternoon of spirited debate , if you take my drift!

Review from Swanks, April 2006: Service with a Scowl

This always was a “Beer n Sport” bar and was previously very welcoming.

Since the ousting of Scrumpy George by the bar girl mafia there, it really has been the tail wagging the dog! George’s management style might have been a bit “Faulty Towers” ,but he managed to keep a lid on what started as a bad attitude in the kitchen, and then spread to the rest of the staff like clap at Loy Krathong. Now it really has took hold and even the new Thai manager seem to have mastered the lip curl (as used on social inferiors by Thais) . This is issued on every possible occasion now and usually is accompanied by “Knowing looks” between staff members. This attitude problem has been mentioned to me by several of the former customers without my saying anything first so it cant be just my imagination.

Beer still cheep and the food is possibly the best, for the price, in Pattaya. Just don’t expect service with a smile.

Jasmine Pub

Lady boy short time bar. Seems to have gone dark

Jimmy Mac’s
Once famous in Pattaya as a short time bar but now resurrected in a different location in the same soi as an eatery

King Kong Beer bar
Previously noted for blow jobs at the bar but these seem to have been forced into short time rooms (before 10pm at least). It is not a BJ bar in the classic sense with the cut-out below the bar and the milking stool for the girl.

News from Pattaya Secrets, Oct 2007: Short Short Time

Please be advised that the new owner (Dutch) is enforcing the schedule for the Short Time, 60 minutes no more free time, if you are lingering like me be ready to pay OT for the bar fine and tip to the girl.

The Mamasan, girls were notified at the last staff meeting.

Review from Pattaya Addicts, Sep 2007: Sold

Fans of the old style, “anything goes in the bar”, may be somewhat disappointed.

King Kong has a new owner, a German with local wife. Fun in the bar is now said to be off the menu.

The price of a beer has increased from the standard 60 baht to 75 baht.

  News Feb 2007: For Sale

The bar seems to be operating at a low ebb with few girls outside and reports of the bar being closed some days. There is a prominent ‘for sale’ sign

Review from Pattaya Secrets, April 2006: No Techno Boombox

Sadly, King Kong seems to be on the downside. The last 3 or 4 times I’ve been in it has been dead. Not many punters and listless girls. It may be just part of the life cycle of bars.

If you go, I think after 10:30 would be best as the girls get up to antics in search of baht as the clock ticks toward closing time.

Music is still a good mix of blues, r&b, bluegrass and alt. country, no techno boombox shit.

Still worth a visit though to a Pattaya landmark of sleaze.

November 2005: Eating at the Bar

It seems to have become something of an eatery with girls sitting on the bar as the main course.

Slightly too much emphasis on ‘going upstairs’ to count as particularly friendly

  October 2005: Pattaya Office

King Kong is my Pattaya office. It is a short time bar with 2 rooms upstairs. The shower is in the hallway. The bar also uses rooms in the hotel next door and these have showers in the room.

200 Baht for the room and 500 Baht for the girl (1 hour). Girls also available Long Time for 300 Baht barfine and 1000 Baht for the girl.

Small interior with impressively low-rent decor and very good music eg. George Thorogood, R&B, bluegrass, country rock. NO technocrap or disco shit.

Friendly atmosphere, go after 10pm when it gets lively.

Kiss Kool Bar
Short time bar has bikini clad dancing girls so see also the GoGo review

Review March 2006: Sexy, Friendly & Possessive

One place in particular that I visited was the “Kiss Kool” club in Soi 6. The girls there VERY sexy and friendly, much like all of the girls in Pattaya Beach. The only real draw back that I noticed is that if you spend too much time with one girl, they tend to get really possessive.

  Review January 2006: Hot Kiss

I thought it was the nicest bar on the block. Really nice short time rooms and some hot girls there when I was in town for the New Year.

La La Land Bar
Short time bar

  April 2008: Roomy

The bar has had something of a makeover. It is a little roomier than before and looks good with its traditional red theme.

January 2006: Clean and Fun Rooms

For clean and fun rooms I like La La and Mandarin. Both are clean, right upstairs and have mirrors. La La actually has more mirrors though.

  Summer 2005: Sexy Uniform

English owned bar with a dozen girls each sporting the sexy uniform shown left. Surely a friendly place. I am not sure that the Natural Planet channel selected for the bar TV is very appropriate but that is hardly the reason for choosing to drink there.

Short time is 500 Baht for girl and 300 Baht for the room. The shower is in a separate bathroom though.

The Love Club
Short time bar

Review February 2006: Gone Going GoGo

I heard about renovations to the bar but it took me ages to get round to a visit.

The bar has installed attractive large sofa seating surrounding a low stage for dancing. The stage offers straps for the dancers rather than poles.

But there was notable absence though, there were no dancers. I was informed that the bar recently flirted with dancing girls but soon ended the experiment. This failure was probably something to do with the complete lack of publicity and signage for the dancing.

One hangover though, the girls think they are still gogo dancers when it comes to short times fees as they ask for 1000 Baht + room.

  Review June 2006: Fire Alarm

Dragged in by a cutie but forced out by ridiculously loud fire alarm music. I was the only customer in the bar and the girl was hardly an expert English speaker. What is the point of music that appeals to the girls more than the customers and played at such volume that makes even ‘where you come from’ impossible to understand.

Our only meaning full conversation revolved around the ‘romantic decor’ (a few plastic flowering trees) and the total lack of customers. I helpfully made a few suggestions as to why and then added to the bar’s woes by quickly moving on to find a quieter place for a romantic chat.

Review June 2006: Two Month Wonder

Another Soi 6 bar that has extensive facilities for pole dancing. The bar has a fair number of sofas surrounding a 3 pole dancing stage. It seems that dancing is on customer demand rather than a regular event though. The decor is ok but they could do with losing some of the electric wiring industrial sculptures.

I didn’t stay long in the bar as the lady that followed me was a ‘two month wonder’: She claimed to have been working in bars for two months after a previous factory job and I wondered how she picked up English so well as to be able to read my Pattaya Mail!

Mandarin Beer Bar
Beer bar next door to the gogo bearing the same name

News from Paul, June 2008: Re-Fronted

Mandarin Beer Bar on Soi 6 has given up on being an open bar and is re-installing the front wall.

  Review April 2008: Low Key

This must be one of the smallest operations on Soi 6 with usually 1-3 girls on duty.

They seem a little bit confused as to whether the bar is an open beer bar or a short time bar. There is a short time room but there is not quite the motivation to use it as most bars in the Soi.

In recent weeks the bar went from being closed to open and is no effectively closed again as the front wall has been replaced by a heavy curtain.

News From Pattaya Secrets Jan 2007: Couch’s Back

News From Pattaya Secrets Dec 2006: Less Friendly

The bar has dropped the option for downstairs service on the very dark communal couches.

This is apparently in response to recently increased police hassle.

Of course, more private upstairs pleasure is still available.

  January 2006: No Thanks

I Visited the Belgian owned My Friend You Bar. As previously mentioned, it takes your eyes 20 minutes or so to get used to the total blackout.

ST room and shower worse than YMCA doss and the rooms are on the 3rd. floor – oldies need mountaineering gear.

Do not let your wallet out of your sight- take it with you in the shower. 800 Baht pays for room + lady. Pay the bar 300 Baht first and 500 Baht the lady after.

Mainly middle-aged female choice + 1 ladyboy.

This is a “no thanks” bar for me.

  December 2005: Lucrative

There are 3 bays each with 3 small sofas. The ambient lighting is unsurprisingly near darkness. There is no time for small talk here. The girls like to get straight to work on their job.

I think the impatience in getting on with the job is based on the steady stream of customers. All the sofas were taken on my visit, and at 800 baht a blow, it must be one of the most lucrative bars in Pattaya

  April 2004:

A great spot for an afternoon beer. The girls were friendly and there were lots of them. Some real lookers. The mamasan is named Vi as is a real charmer although she wants to many drinks. I had a great time there and found a couple of very charming ladies. It seems to me the drinks were a little pricy-100B lady drink but other than that I received great service. The bar has some attractive girls outside but I did not really enjoy the bar much. I offered to buy a lady drink and out came an expensive Breezer without getting my permission first.

I spoke to two girls and their only line of conversation was to ‘go up’. Understandable, but not really very enjoyable.

Perhaps the best bet is to select a girl to go straight upstairs and to skip the interview drinks.

Review from John, Feb 2008: Cool Beer

O Bar is now owned by an American. Repainted and clean. They have between 12 and 15 good girls every day.

It also has a sound system with 120,000 songs. Cool beer, good mixed drinks and good bartender.

Pat Bat
Short time bar with rooms but no shower

  Review Sep 2007: Run Down

To put it bluntly, Pat Bar is a little run down. The dilapidated sofas were held together with a stretch cover that had seen better days. These perhaps contributed to the less than fresh odour that permeated the bar.

The bar staff were friendly and no doubt the girls would have proved equally friendly had we not shooed them away for not quite living up to our high expectations.

I was dreading a visit to the loos made out of necessity, but there was no need to worry as they were perfectly acceptable.

I have read a few reports that the girls in the bar can get quite naughty but somehow I didn’t feel inclined to linger to find out.

  Review April 2007: Bar Watching

I did pop by once before when I thought it would be good to watch the last England vs Australia test match in an ‘a traditional English pub’. I popped out quick quick when they were showing American tennis! This leads me to doubt that there is any actual English connection to this bar.

Anyway I eventually visited again (TVs were off this time).

The bar is pleasantly decorated and features rows of tankards and glasses suspended from the ceiling.

The tables overlooking the short time bars are popular, presumably people like to feed one type of hunger whilst considering their options over the other type of hunger.

The range of farang beers was good but I stuck with draft tiger at 60 Baht (the bottled option was 70 Baht).

Newspapers are available for the short while it takes to knock up the food. The menu was extensive and the food was good but not exceptional. They probably take similar high quality boil in the bag/microwave catering supplies as other fine farang food restaurants in Pattaya.

Not many customers were lingering after eating though, there are better things to do in Soi 6

  News Jan 2008: Rates

The girls’ short time rate is now 700 Baht

Review from Pattaya Secrets, July 2006: Humming

I’ve only been here once. I had read on some forum that it had the prettiest girls, and I think that proved to be true. I went upstairs, and it was indeed shabby. No shower in the room, either, which I guess is standard for soi 6 but I really don’t want do deal with that anymore. And maybe I am the only one who cares about such things, but these short-time rooms gross me out. They do not change the bedding in these places all day (if not all week), even though dozens of women get pounded into the mattress every day. The best you can hope for is a new large towel on top of the bed. No thanks.

I do not like the places where you get the hummer while sitting at the bar — not comfortable enough for me. I like the couch hummer, where I can really stretch back and enjoy myself. Any suggestions for other bars with excellent couch hummers? That did not seem to be an option at Red Point during my only visit. I did see a partially hidden alcove on the far back right of the bar that might have some promise.

Review from Pattaya Pages, June 2006: Hold Out for the Best

I have always liked the Red Point the best. On the north side of Soi 6, 50 yards or so from Beach Road. Big red dot on the sign.

The mamasan trains her girls well. They don’t bother you for drinks. Usually very good BBBJ, rim, etc. A few 3-holers. Rooms upstairs are decent.

When you walk up there are usually girls sitting out front on the street. If you do not see one you like just go inside and sit down on one of the sofas. If you do not like the first girls who sits with you, just hold out. Mamasan will eventually throw one of her best looking ones at you.

  Review March 2006:

I find there a nice relaxed atmosphere, and very nice and funny women
I never go short time, I always take one with me….

  August 2005:

A couple of absolute Darlings there. Rooms now have showers in room, great while on afternoon stroll. Price 250 Room and 500 for Lady. Money well spent. Correction: In fact only room number 1 has a shower.

Route 69 Bar
Short time bar

Review from Pattaya Chat, Dec 2006:

Short time rooms at Route 69 are horrible. Just a mattress on the floor with separate showers

Prices are now 300 Baht for the room and 700 for the girl paid upfront.

Review from Tim, Oct 2006: The Price is Right

Had a few girls at the front door that interested me.. went in.. a bit dark as are ALL the bars.. a nice girl followed.. however not to my taste.. I asked for another girl.. again not to my taste.. NOW these girls were attractive and friendly.. but I have my own taste in women.. finally got a nice girl..

ALL of the girls NEVER ask me to buy them a drink.. after a few minutes.. went upstairs for a roll in the hay as they say.. price was right.. 300 + 500.. no hassle.. rooms are bit on the old side and shower is as well.. but I was there for an afternoon of fun.. not to live there.. In fact returned there a few times for other girls.. all were friendly, no hassle and good in bed

Roxy Club
Short time bar with mix of girls and lady boys

  News March 2006: Trend

It has been reported that the bar has joined the Soi 6 trend towards 700 Baht for the girl (300 for the room)

  Review September 2005: Decent Speakers

Across the street from the Queen Vic is the Roxy Bar. Good sound system with more then decent speakers. Bar girls aren’t bad either.

Ruby Club
Short time bar

Review from Pattaya Secrets, May 2008: Plush

Rooms very good. A fair mix of merchandise. Drinks are about the cheapest for that end of street. The seating area is very plush with good air-con.

300 for the room and 500 for the girl.

  January 2006:

Ruby has excellent short time rooms. Large, clean, modern, mirrored ceiling and walls, big beds, adjustable lighting and very large showers.

Room 250 and girl 500 for some of the best short time fun on soi 6.

  November 2005:

Plush interior with several bars of comfortable sofas. The expected clutch of pretty young things were well friendly.

  July 2005:

I like Ruby’s for the nice Euro-style comfort and the best short time rooms I’ve been in. 260 Baht barfine and 500 Baht for BBBJCIM

Saigon Girl
Vietnam War themed short time bar opened 5th October 2007

  Review Oct 2007: Apocalypse Now

The opening night was well attended with plenty of food laid on to keep an army of bikers well fed.

In anticipation of a good turnout the owners had closed down their Route 69 bar for the evening and reposted the girls for duties in Saigon Girl.

The war theme of the bar is surely unique in Pattaya. The walls are decorated by pictures of the Vietnam War. Partitions around the bar are made from “Explosives” canisters. There’s even a NAAFI seemingly located in the loos. The girls were wearing military styled skirts and blouses but somewhat skimpier than female troopers may wear. The peace badge seemed slightly out of place though. A couple of jeeps were parked outside the bar for extra effect.

Presumably Rest & Recreation is the purpose of the bar but the bar layout seems a bit of a disaster for this purpose.

There are comfortable seats but these arranged facing the bar almost like as if to provide a show for the people sitting at the bar. There’s not a shred of privacy and when a girl was taking good personal care of me, I somehow saw the entire bar as an auditorium with me and my girl being the performers.

There are a couple of dance poles on podiums but the bar isn’t going into the gogo business.

Sexy Soi Six

Short time bar

  December 2005: Slinky

Two hostesses in slinky black dresses greeted us as we entered, while a third lovely lass proceeded to climb on an impromptu stage in her birthday suit. She then gyrated to random hip hip offerings.

Sexy Soi Six is a classic short time bar. It is one of the classier establishments amongst the bars in this high rent district.

  September 2005: Favourite

I have a few favourites like Sexy Soi Six – a good bar
Sky Bar
Short time bar renamed in November 2007, previously Dirty Den’s

Soi 6 Corner Bar
Pattaya Soi 6 (Soi Yodsak)
(Corner of 2nd Road)

soi6cornerbar.wetpaint.com

Now an open bar, previously a short time bar. Doesn’t have short time rooms. Has a room arrangement with nearby bar but this will cost room charge + barfine.

Review from Pattaya Secrets, July 2007: Great Sofas

Chris, the owner, is a nice bloke & told me few things about what to expect in town & his sofas are a great place to chill & friendly staff, too.

It does get very very warm but the cute little hostesses were more than obliging with the cold flannels.

  December 2005:

Has removed a couple of walls to convert from an inside bar into an open beer bar. I don’t know if they will concentrate on short times or become a more traditional bar with the emphasis on drinks and the occasional takeaway.

  November 2005:

Clean, pleasant bar with friendly girls and not expensive. The short time room is presentable. I do not know if she is still there, but two of the biggest knockers on one lassie that I have ever seen in Thailand. Standard Soi 6 prices.

Somewhere Else Bar
Short time bar, called something else now

Spider Girl Bar

Beer bar and restaurant opened on Soi 6 in February 2008.

Not a big hit so far though

Sportsman’s Inn
Restaurant

Sticky Fingers

Short time bar, now renamed

Superstar Bar

Short time bar eventually reopened after a couple of month’s police closure

Review, October 2006: Check the Bin

A bit of a warning sign when your bin is kept at the bar instead of being sent to your table. And sure enough on checking…a mythical drink had been added.

The girls launch straight into premium price ladydrinks without asking permission too.

Pretty ladies though, so one can get easily distracted…

  Review, June 2006: Discrete Sign

Unassuming bar that I hadn’t spotted before. As one speeds past it seems to be part of the Butterfly Bar but there is a separate sign if you look.

The girls were a mixed bunch with some looking attractive in their white blouses and tartan skirts.

The bar is pretty standard inside with drinks, sofas and music videos on TV. Well distracted by an old friend so didn’t spend much time examining the decor. There was a fair amount of toing and froing in the bar but not actually much coming and going.

There were a couple of tense moments in the bar as one of the girls seemed a little argumentative after a few too many drinks.

Sweet Dreams

Short time bar, previously The Trinity Arch.

  News June 2008: Dream On

The bar went dark in April 2008 and re-opened in June 2008. Licensing problems were cited.

TG Bar

Short time bar

Review from Pattaya Talk, July 2007: Old School

Many girls good selection, energetic attempts to get you to be interested, very hands on, the original old school from which many Soi 6 girls have emerged trained up.

Now somewhat a shadow of its former self. Now absolute refusal to BJ in bar couches so its upstairs ST room or nothing.

Hands on girls and great cliche tartan school type outfits as seen all over pattaya. It’s got the girls Classroom should have.

News July 2007: Neither Terry or Graham

The bar has in fact been sold for sometime to a Finnish guy.

Review by Materialsman, March 2006: Beautifully Attired

TG Bar was of a standard way above the rest of the bars in grope alley. Hats off to however runs the bar, high standard of good looking girls, beautifully attired too.

  February 2006: Mrs Terry

Perhaps a slightly misleading bar name as Graham no longer holds an interest. The person who deserves the pat on the back is the mamasan (Nung) also known as Mrs Terry.

T G bar has five rooms, four of which have aircon and one has a fan.

  November 2005: Hats Off

Hats off to “Terry and Graham”, they had staffed their bar with some really attractive girls. They were all wearing sexy versions of school uniforms. My chosen girl was friendly and a lot of fun and didn’t put the hard word on me straight away, which is nice.

500 Baht short time and the girls were all very enthusiastic.

The shower was down the hall from the room. There was no air con in the room but a ceiling fan going full speed kept us cool. However take care of the ceiling fan, it was was only a few inches above my head.

Thai Rose
British owned short time bar.

Review Oct 2007: Bins on the Bar

The bar operates the policy of keeping the bins on the bar rather than in front of the customer. It always seems that the bar has something to hide when they do this, and in this case they were hiding the fact that lady drinks cost a very expensive 125 Baht. (Bottled beer was 65)

Review from Pattaya Secrets, Aug 2007: Not Nice

Bar is small and the short time rooms are not that nice. 300 Baht for the room and 700 Baht for the girl.

Thumbs Up Funny Bar
Short time bar. Converted from a restaurant in April 2007

Up To You

Short time bar

 Review May 2008: Both Ways

The bar seems to be operating with a girls entrance on Soi 6 and a lady boy entrance on Soi 6/1. I found this mixture a little inhibiting so made a rapid exit.

Viking Bar
Short time bar

Review from TeakDoor, Jan 2007: Sleazy

This is my kind of place, low end dirty and sleazy, But most importantly they do have some nice girls for rent.

This place is completely lacking in class and taste, but people don’t go to Soi Yodsak for that sort of stuff anyway.

Moving onto the bedrooms, they only have one that has air con, the others are all fan rooms, and of course you have the joy of the shared bathroom

Whiskey Whisky Bar
Whiskey bar with aircon. No short time rooms

From Whiskey Whisky, April 2008: No-Hassle Drinking Bar

The wife (Saree) and I run a no-hassle drinking bar. No ST rooms. Bar fine outs only.

We presently stock around 60+ Whiskies, couple dozen Vodkas, a dozen Gins, dozen and half Tequilas, dozen or so Rums…….as well as beer, coolers and the usual Baileys, Kahlua etc etc.

Punters are welcome to select their own music from around 12,000 tracks on the PC.

There are girls but hands on fun is not encouraged in the bar and the girls set their own prices which are not bound by the Soi 6 norm.

Review from Thai Visa, August 2006: Wide Variety

Great Aircon spot in the middle of the gauntlet. It specialises in a wide variety of whiskeys. The owner is fabulous – she really makes an effort to go out of her way to make you feel at home.
