Thailand scores bottom 10 for press freedom

Just a day after the USA put Thailand on alert for intellectual property theft, the Land of Smiles has landed in the lower ranking for press freedom by the Committee to Protect Journalists.

The NGO suggests that Thailand’s media has suffered even greater setbacks to its ability to bring forward the truth in stark contrast to its previous freedom of the press.Recent reversals are blamed for this setback, although the Press has never been able to say what they want here for fear of upsetting the status quo. Much the same in the USA where there is freedom of speech as long as you are saying what you are told to say.

See the US press commitment to truth in the lead-up to the Iraq invasion.

Obedient lap-dogs sniffing the presidential netherhole like shit tasted like bacon.

Leading the list are Egypt and Cuba who actively suppressed the media

Then again why say anything when you can’t change the situation.
