Two years ago a Thai actress intoned that Angkor Wat had been constructed by her ancestral countrymen. The Cambodians responded to this theory by burning the Thai embassy to the ground. No one was hurt according to official reports and the embassy was re-built at the expense of the Chinese community.
Worldwide people are sensitive about […]

Panthip Plaza is an amazing bazaar for IT merchandise. Six stories packed with computers, software, and cameras catering to the free market forces of pseudo-intellectual commerce. Some of it legit. some of it pirated, especially the DVDs and most recently the Deputy Prime Minister sponsored a raid to suppress vice and intellectual property crimes.
With complete secrecy the […]

Gary Glitter is serving time for under-age sex in Vietnam. The singer of ROCK AND ROLL #1 claims he was innocent, since he doesn’t consider the act of coprophilia ’sex’. Authorities in almost every country in the world beg to differ. Cambodia has long been targeted by pedophiles as a desired destination to pursue their prey. […]

EMAIL from my Palm Beach friend, Lisa.
~ Tough Love vs. Spanking ~
(a psychological conundrum)
Most of America’s populace think it improper to spank children,
so I have tried other methods to control my kids when they have one of ‘those moments.’
One that I found effective is for me to just take the child for a car ride […]

Unbelievably Iggy aka Jim Osterberg attained 60.
The rock icon celebrated his entry into senior citizenship by diving off the stage at some stupid venue in America. What’s amazing is that all the news agencies are covering this event with the same bio, as if they were disappointed he hadn’t topped himself, but Iggy was stronger than […]

In 1974 I stepped off a bus in Needles California. At first I thought the overwhelming heat was from a bus exhaust. The giant thermometer across the street told the truth. 137 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade. I hid in the dairy Queen and drank ice cream sodas until the sun went down, then hitchhiked […]

Pattaya Beach, Thailand 1968 & 1971
These photos were taken by a GI on holiday. Amazing. No Big-C. No traffic. No plastic bags in the water. No Russians, lager louts, or bikers. There is no trick photography. That’s how it was. Not that I knew. I was a draft dodger and I’m still trying […]

Four years ago GW Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and declared to the American public, “Mission accomplished.”
Four years and still counting the Iraq War keeps on ticking like a Trillion dollar Timex watch with a lifetime guarantee. Congress has now acted to rein in the president’s 22 months of office by passing a […]

Nick and I woke in the Angkor Arm to the sound of cars revving their engines. Holiday-makers from the Chinese hostel were testing their engines like the drive to the capitol was the Indy 500. We were also heading north.
By bus.
Not a mini-bus packed with 300 passengers.
Am I cheap?
Kind of, but the taxi was $40 […]
