Tiger Woods failed to make the cut for the US Open was on the minds of many Americans this weekend, instead of the US Team’s game against Italy. I was at a barbecue with 25 people. The game was on and I was the only one watching. No one even asked about the game.

“You hear that Tiger didn’t make the cut.”
Now I like Tiger. He’s half-Thai and half USA, but is one man’s failure more important than the national team’s struggle against a squad of Italian hairdressers.
The answer is yes.
They don’t even call ‘football’ football here. It’s soccer.
“I can’t get worked up about a game where no one scores.”
Sort of like Friday night dates in the USA
No one is getting laid.
