My time in Pattay ran out from days to hours to minutes and last night after a dinner at my friend’s house on Soi Batman I thought about having a drink at the Buffalo Bar. A Gin-Tonic. Maybe five. I drove my scooter up to the entrance. I looked inside. It was only 8pm. The girls were dressed in pink. I had drank a million baht in this bar over the years. This was my last night in Pattaya for 2008.

Tuk smiled from behind the bar. She was everyone’s darling in the short-time rooms upstairs. Her favorite drink was tequila. I waved from the door and drove off to the safety of my hotel room.

I was a bad boy.

I only wished I could have been wicked, except my energy meter was on empty.

It’s been a hard 2008.

Oh, yeah, my last drink in Pattaya was Archa beer. 30 baht a bottle.
