More than 10% Divine

Ava, my co-worker at the diamond exchange, said the other day that she had no gay friends. The Brazilian mother of one is a firm fundamentalist and a devout believer in the Bible. Hell is a place for sinners and God has a special oven for the worshipers of man-sex for her church. It is not Catholic in origins.

“Ava, you know many gays. And you probably have many gay friends, only they won’t tell you.” Most of my gay friends never mention it, because they think that they are so obvious, however most people have no idea what is a gay man. Certainly Rock Hudson didn’t fit the caricature.

“There was a gay man in my church.” Deisy is a very good person. The Brazilian 30 year-old loves her daughter and friends. She has recently broken up with her husband and she questions staying in America.

“And the pastor threw him out?” Gays aren’t welcome in many churches.

“Yes, he was asked to leave.”

“And you stopped being friends with him?”

“Yes.”

“You know Jesus hung around with 12 men and no women. He had long hair and a dress.” There’s no mention in the New Testament about his liking Broadway show tunes or gladiator movies. “Some people could have considered him ‘gay’.”

“That’s blasphemy.”

“Maybe.” I let it drop for Ava loves her church. She had no knowledge about the recent Gay Jesus exhibition in Europe and the USA. Most of the art was second-rate. And there was no chance of her ever seeing the great YouTube ex trait of a faux Jesus lip-syncing I WILL SURVIVE but you can see it by going to the following URL

Needless to say my non-beliefs are my own.
