Man City may lose Sinatra

Man City supporters have enjoyed the mangling the name of the club’s potential owner. Shinawatra fast became Sinatra. The fun may be short-lived, as the Thai court has frozen the assets of the Thaksin Shinawatra family. 73 Billion baht comes from the disputed Shin Corp sale to Singapore. The Thai banks insist that over 58.8 billion are locked in their accounts, leaving almost 24 billion unaccounted for by the former prime minister.

Some critics are saying that the money has fled the scene of the crime like a drunk bus driver disappearing after a highway crash.

Only Thaksin has gone farther afield than an Isaan rice paddy.

In response to the present prime minister’s offer to return to his native land, Thaksin has supposedly purchased a $27,000,000 (US) house in Hong Kong. Nearly one billion baht bringing the missing total to 22 billion.

The Man City purchase price is a 100,000,000 Pounds Sterling or 6.8 billion baht.

Down to 15.2 billion.

Money goes fast in the fast lane.

Man City fans are hopeful that Sinatra can finalize his deal.

Life for those supporters has been so miserable that they are praying for a miracle from Old Blue Eyes, who loves to sing, “Regrets I have a few then again too few to mention.”

Getting on a plane out of Thailand certainly isn’t one of them.
