Al Jazeera TV News – Pattaya

Yesterday Rosie O’Donnell announced to the public that they won’t be seeing her on THE VIEW anymore. This ‘news’ came after a heated hissy fit with her co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Rosie’s earned a first place slot from CNN and Fox News on a day where GW Bush announced that 2008 will see troop reductions in Iraq.

Iraq versus Rosie.

Rosie wins hands down on the three US super channels NBC, CBS, and ABC. Fox News declared victory almost as if GW Bush had caught Osama Bin Laden himself, which is why I watch Al Jazeera News on Sophon Cable.

The news service based in Qatar ( I like this country for flying directly in the face of the letter ‘u’ having to follow Q in English ) broadcast news. Not fluff. Not Paris Hilton gossip. Not OJ. Not some murder of a Georgia drum majorette, but the news from around the world with a surprising variety of perspectives.

History of the Israeli tank.

Interview with US generals serving in Iraq.

Tango dancing in Jordan.

Well, maybe they do have a little fluff, but better than the BBC with their capitalist business news in the back half-hour of their world news.

Fox I watch strictly for entertainment and an insight into that 34% of the Americans who actually believe the president has a plan to win the war in Iraq.

Al Jazeera doesn’t say which way the war will go, although the service is banned in the USA.

For freedom of speech turn to Al Jazeera on Sophon.

Channel 49 on my scrambler.

You’ll be surprised.
