Thieves like Duh

I can’t remember which commandment belongs to ‘thou shalt not steal’. I’ll guess #6. I agree with this rule, for aside from being karmically wrong, the rewards of theft are outweighed by the negatives.

Why?

Because people make mistakes and two heads are not smarter than one and three are stupider than two.

The proof comes from the recent theft of an ATM machine in Chonburi.

Workers at the Kasikkorn Bank discovered their ATM machine had been replaced by a hole. The thieves had gotten away with over 4.2 million baht. I never thought ATMs could hold that much cash. The police were called to the scene of the crime. The closed-circuit camera revealed three European men liberating the weighty ATM machine for a holiday on a pick-up truck.

No masks. No disguise. And why not?

All farangs look the same to Thais?

Mistakes #1 and 2.

The polcie broadcast the televised theft and a Pattaya man recognized the truck as one rented to three men earlier in the day.

Mistake #3. Using a rented car under your actual passport.

Mistake #4. Giving a real address.

The police showed up at the BS apartments.

Mistake # 5. Not fleeing the area.

Two of the men were in their room with 2 milion baht.

Busted.

They confessed to the crime and also that they dumped the ATM n a reservoir.

The third man was smarter than his friends and is on the loose with 2 million plus baht. Enough for a good year on the run, but at least the third man learned his lessons in crime right, which is crime doesn’t pay if you break more than one law at a time.
